Best Judo, by Isao Inokuma & Nobuyuki Sato

From the Amazon.com web site:

Best Judo, by Isao Inokuma & Nobuyuki Sato

This book will help anyone be their best in judo.
Reviewer: David J. Haille from Dayton, OH, August 6, 1999
I trained for several years, and spent most of them on a plateau. This book helped me smash through that glass ceiling (or whatever it was) that held me back. Now, I am flawlessly executing complex moves I never thought I would be able to use. What I got from this book was one flash of insight after another. My only regret is the time I wasted BEFORE I latched onto Inokuma's powerful words. I am forever indebted to the author. My son is showing an interest in Judo. This will be his text.

Written by the great minds in the game.
Reviewer: Doug Barrett from Adelaide, Australia April 24, 1999 - This book is ideal for the judoka regardless of his/her experience. The book focuses on showing the techniques with action photos rather than on long passages of text that would bore the reader. It also contains a handy section on physical conditioning for the judoka which is essential for maximizing progress in a very physically demanding sport. The essays, at the back of the book, about the authors and Yamashita's experiences in judo are most inspirational.

Complete Book of Jujutsu, by Bruce Tegner

Complete Book of Jujutsu, by Bruce TegnerFrom the Amazon.com web site:

Excellent for beginners
Reviewer: A reader from California, USA, October 12, 1998 - I just bought this book and have had an opportunity to put it through its paces. I've found the text to be very readable and instructive. Unlike many martial arts "Manuals" this one doesn't try to shroud the techniques in mystery, or pretend that you can become a black belt just by reading the book. Instead, it presents the material in an easy to read format that accurately describes the action in the photographs. A word of caution though, it reads a bit like a text book and the smallish black and white photos sometimes make it hard to see exactly what's going on. Overall, it is an excellent introduction to the art of ju jitsu for those who would like to either explore the martial arts, or experienced stylists who wish to expand their knowledge.

Jiu Jitsu : The Official World Jiu Jitsu Federation Training Manual – Blue Belt to Brown Belt, by Robert Clark

Jiu Jitsu : The Official World Jiu Jitsu Federation Training ManualFrom the Amazon.com web site:

Excellent instruction manual for ju-jitsu enthusiasts
Reviewer: ninja@ninjamail.demon.co.uk from England - October 31, 1998 - Anyone who is making a serious attempt to improve their range of techniques for grading purposes etc. would do well to purchase this book as it is an easy reference to throws, ground techniques and finishes. I have also purchased the White to Green Belt and the Black belt publications in the same series, which are equally high quality publications. Buy these books, they are worth every penny in saving your practise time and improving your rate of progress.

Great book for any one who wants to learn Jiu-Jitsu.
Reviewer: wizzird@usa.net from Michigan, United States, October 15, 1998 - A great book. I would recommend to anyone. Step by Step instructions. Great for beginners.
